In Romans 8:28, does "all things work together for good" mean bad things won't happen to Christians?

Romans 8:28 doesn't promise that bad things won't happen, but that God can work even through difficult circumstances for our ultimate good and His glory. It's about God's sovereignty and His ability to bring purpose from pain.
